* Experience: My Accountancy career began in 1990, so I have well over 30 years experience in the Accountancy business, starting as a junior and building my way up to Accounts Manager over the years. Working in General Practice for over 20 years means that I covered all areas and it also means that I know exactly what Accountants are looking for, so for clients where we are only the bookkeepers, the accounts are prepared to a high standard to be passed on to your actual Accountant.
* Qualifications: I qualified with the Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) in 2003 and am a Fellow Member, enabling me to use the letters FMAAT. I am also a fully qualified AAT Bookkeeper (AATQB). I am now a Xero Certified Advisor and a Xero Silver Partner , and I also hold Sage Level 3 qualifications.
* Licenced to Practice: I am licensed and governed by the AAT to practice as a self employed Accounting Technician and fully governed by their rules and the licence is renewed by the AAT on an annual basis. I have full Professional Indemnity Insurance with the AAT and I also have Public Liability Insurance.
* Personal History - I have lived in or around Chulmleigh since I was born and I grew up on a Dairy Farm. I have extensive experience with farm bookkeeping. I have always worked within the finance industry, having first worked in a bank and a building society, before ending up in the world of Accountancy. Thanks to the support of my then employer Mark Joslin, I decided to study for the AAT and have never looked back. I now have people working for me 2-3 days a week in order to cover the work required.
